“The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward toward justice.” Martin Luther King Jr. 1967
How long must people of color wait for that justice?
Crooked Creek by Sue Mattingly
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Mahatma Gandhi
What would he say today, eh? If there were never any factors working against that arc of moral justice, I think he might have had a point.
Sad to say, Clarence Darrow worked just as tirelessly against the principle of people taking responsibility for their actions, counteracting moral justice with “given my client’s circumstances, how could he possibly help doing what he did?”
