Writing Prompt 2

What is the one thing that you don’t eat that you really wish you could and why?

My Answer:

I really wish I could eat shrimp. Unfortunately I am allergic to crustaceans (shrimp, lobster and crab) as I learned in the 1980s while in Charleston, South Carolina. After eating shrimp all week I went into anaphylactic shock. It was a frightening experience!

If I was sentenced to die and offered a last meal before the lethal injection, I would request shrimp, fried and lots of it!

  1. It’s all in the raising, I guess. As a prairie girl, I wouldn’t eat shrimp if you paid me. 😉
My answer would be gingersnaps, because i like them but am allergic to ginger. If I eat a couple of fresh warm ginger cookies (or anything with ginger) my gums swell up in blisters. 😦

  2. My answer would be beef. After being a beef lover for most of my adult life ( we did not have it when I was a child, mainly for financial reasons), I had colon cancer 15 years ago. After recovering I did a study through U.K. Of people who had colon cancer. It included exercise habits, family history as well as diet. The one thing that was most common was eating beef. Of course the reason could have been that it was a common main course in Those years but I took it to heart. Therefore I do not eat beef except once or twice a year and I still enjoy it.

By the way, In England retired medical people are being asked to return to help out in the current situation. I thought of you and wondered if that would happen here. Take care.

  3. I’m listing two; Miracle whip sandwiches on white bread and fried bologna! Why I don’t anymore should be obvious from the items! Unhealthy, unhealthy but oh so tasty….
